The Lifely Journal · straight answers for parents, from the people who make the bed
Milk. Juice. 2am accidents. It washes.
How the zip-wash-repeat loop works, and the two honest caveats that come with it.

Straight up: we don't have a wall of reviews about washing this bed, so this page can't lean on other parents' words the way our other pages do. What it can do is show you exactly how the washing works, because for a lot of families this is the whole decision — a $599 bed only makes sense if it survives a toddler.
The washing, mechanically

From the care instructions, verbatim spirit
- The covers unzip. All of them — the bed strips down like a doona, not like a mattress.
- Machine wash at 30°, gentle. Line dry in shade, no tumble dryer.
- Nothing inside to ruin. The core is high-resilience foam — no wooden slats to warp, no metal to rust under a spill.
- Repeat as needed. Milk, juice, midnight accidents, gastro week — the answer is the same zip-wash-dry loop.
That's the entire system. No steam cleaner, no upholstery service, no quietly buying a new bed after the second bad night.
And on general quality — the reviews we do have, verbatim:
“Worth the investment, the quality is better than expected. It was very easy to assemble, my 2 1/2 year old loves her bed and she is finally sleeping on her own.”
“This bed has no hard parts at all. Made of nice foam that is not super soft and its not hard.”

The two honest caveats
One: washing a cover is a chore — a 30° gentle cycle and line drying takes a day, so if spills are a daily event in your house, look at the bundle options on the product page and see what's included before you decide; a second cover means the bed is never out of service. Two: like any low bed, airflow matters — the care guide covers keeping the underside fresh, and unzipping fully means nothing stays damp and hidden.
If the washability question is what's been stopping you, the trial is the cleanest test there is: “30 days to try it out. Not in love? We’ll pick it up, recycle it, and give you a full refund.” One month, real mess, your washing machine.
