Surprisingly didn’t have an issue with the balance, it seems to stand up fine - although the assembly was tough. I had to shove around 10cm of the stiff cord into the shaft of the stand to put the two pieces together, and then the holes for the screws didn’t line up properly so I could only get one **** in.
It would also be great if the description was more clear about it being metal not wood - but that’s also my own fault for not double checking

I didn't have an issue with balance like the other two reviewers. It's a surprisingly heavy and surprisingly large lampshade—I don't know why I couldn't tell the scale of the lamp in the photos! It's heavy because the lamp isn't wood but metal with a realistic wood print. The large shade makes it hard to put in a corner, so I would recommend this for a very open space. It takes a while to put together, mainly because of the stiff cord.

Not very stable on carpet sadly but a beautiful lamp

I bought this for my baby’s room, and it’s a beautiful lamp, but it falls over because it’s imbalanced. The bottom of the stand doesn’t counterweight the lamp shade. It means it just falls because the top is so heavy. We’ve put a weight across the bottom of the stand, it wouldn’t be able to stand on its own.
