Share Your Lifely moment: Aesthetic

Pretty, but not great

I love assembling flat pack furniture and always enjoy and make quick work out of IKEA, Fantastic Furniture, Amart, Temple & Webster etc. This Lifely bedside table was not fun or easy to build.

Some holes don’t come pre-drilled, so it’s quite annoying to get the screws in. The drawer rollers were shown as being in two pieces on the instructions, but there was no info on how to separate the roller components from how they arrive. I didn’t want to risk doing it incorrectly and damaging it, so attaching the drawer onto the rollers (attached to the table frame in a previous step) was awkward.

One of the round feet came with its attached s c r e w too short to actually s c r e w into the frame. I wanted the table assembled ASAP so decided to just glue that ball onto the frame instead of asking for Lifely to send a suitable one and having to wait.

Material doesn’t feel very solid, even for flatpack MDF furniture. The tables do look quite nice but I’m not confident about how well they’re going to hold up.

Overall, they look quite pretty but assembly was not a good experience and the product quality is substandard. Value is okay if you get it on sale for a significant discount, but for over $200 RRP something much better should be expected.
